The Allen County Coroner has identified a Hicksville, Ohio woman as the victim of a fatal crash on State Road 37 Wednesday afternoon.
The coroner’s office released the following saying that 56-year-old Jean Parrish was driving one of the SUVs that was hit by a pickup truck.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified, and made notifications to the next of kin of the deceased individual that was involved in a motor vehicle crash in the 20800 Block of State Road 37, in Harlan, Allen County, Indiana, at about 16:08 hours, Wednesday, January 26, 2022. She has been identified as Jean Lorraine Parrish, female, white, age 56, of Hicksville, Ohio.
Jean Lorrain Parrish was the operator of a motor vehicle that was struck head-on by another motor vehicle. Mrs. Parrish was pronounced deceased at the scene by Northeast EMS.

Jean Lorraine Parrish is the 6th traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2022.
The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – One person is dead after a crash in northeast Allen County Wednesday afternoon.
It happened just after 4 p.m. on S.R. 37 at Springfield Center Road.
According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, one pickup hit two SUVs before one of the vehicles caught fire. Police say a pickup truck was driving westbound on State Road 37, just east of Springfield Center Road, when it struck the other two vehicles, which were both eastbound.
The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene and one other person had injuries.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On January 26, 2022, at approximately 4:09 P.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a personal injury crash near the intersection of State Road 37 and Springfield Center Road.
Witnesses reported a three-vehicle crash with one of the vehicles being on fire.
Officers and medics arrived on scene. Three vehicles were in fact involved, one pickup truck and two sport utility vehicles.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the pickup truck was westbound on State Road 37, just east of Springfield Center Road, when it struck the other two vehicles, which were both eastbound.
The adult male driver and his two passengers of the pickup truck were all in fair condition. The driver of the first SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second SUV was listed in fair condition.
The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
