Fort Wayne tops the ‘Best Places to Live’ for affordability

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – There is more good national press for the Summit City. Fort Wayne is now getting some attention for its affordability.

Forbes.com recently featured Niche’s fifth annual list of the best places to live. It includes a number of categories, including “the best cities in America (urban areas with a population of 100,000 or more), the places with the lowest cost of living and more,” according to Forbes.com

The list also included the most affordable cities to live in. And, as was the case in 2018, 2019, and 2021, Fort Wayne ranked at the top. This part of the list considered “housing and rental affordability in comparison to incomes in the area.”

2. Wichita Falls, Texas
3. Brownsville, Texas
4. South Bend, Indiana
5. Dayton, Ohio
6. Toledo, Ohio
7. Evansville, Indiana
8. Buffalo, New York
9. Beaumont, Texas
10. Akron, Ohio
