DVR Alert! Here’s What’s on TV Today

Did you know Americans watch the most TV? Of course, we do – with like 300 different networks and streaming services producing so many original shows it’d literally be impossible to find enough time to watch all of ’em.
But we’re gonna try. According to a study, people in North America watch more TV than anyone else in the world. We watch an average of four hours and three minutes a day, which is WELL above the worldwide average of just under three hours.

The study also found that American TV shows are the most popular worldwide. British shows are second. You can celebrate our achievement with some great new television.

  • “Space Launch Live: Shatner in Space” at 8:30 a.m. Eastern on Discovery.  William Shatner becomes the oldest person to go to space as he rides the phallic-shaped Blue Origin rocket.  He’s 90 and the actual lift-off is at 10:00 a.m. EST.


  • The seventh season premiere of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” at 8:00 p.m. on the CW.


  • The 90-minute “CMT Artists of the Year”special at 9:00 p.m. on CMT.


  • The third season premiere of “Batwoman” at 9:00 p.m. on the CW.


  • The fourth season premiere of “The Sinner” at 10:00 p.m. on USA.


  • The second season finale of “Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens” is at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.


  • The series premiere of “Just Beyond” on Disney Plus.  An eight-episode anthology of supernatural stories of witches, aliens, ghosts, and parallel universes, inspired by the writings of R.L. Stine.  (Trailer)


  • The premiere of “Dopesick” on Hulu.  A miniseries about how America got addicted to OxyContin.  Michael Keaton is a doctor duped into thinking it was safe for his patients and Rosario Dawson is a DEA agent trying to take shut it down.  (Trailer)
