FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – There are more checks coming from the city of Fort Wayne to people arrested during the city’s violent 2020 protests.

Court documents show the city is paying $100,000 to settle lawsuits from a dozen people who claimed police overstepped their bounds during the protests that turned into riots following George Floyd’s death.

Part of the settlement means Fort Wayne Police don’t have to admit any wrongdoing.

The $100,000 is on top of the $300,000 Fort Wayne is paying a protester who lost his eye when a police tear gas canister hit him in the face.
