FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says it is investigating a crash late Tuesday night that sent a moped driver to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to the FWPD, it happened around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of N. Coliseum and Lake. and Lake Ave. A truck and the moped were both driving south when the truck ran into the moped from behind.
No one in the truck was hurt. The moped driver was taken by medics to the hospital and is said to be in critical condition. Police did not specify which driver they believe was under the influence but said they think speed and alcohol were involved.
The investigation is ongoing.

On Tuesday June 11th 2024 at approximately 11:16 PM officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to N Coliseum & Lake Ave regarding a vehicle crash involving a mopedA A truck traveling south bou rear-ended a moped.
Medics transported the male moped rder to a local hospital with lfe threatening injuries. The occupants of the pickup truck were uninjured. Speed and Alcohol are beeved to be a factor.
This incident remains under nvestigation with the Fort Wayne Police Department Fatal Crash Team, and Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
