DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says that a man suffered a broken leg after crashing his truck when he fell asleep at the wheel.
It happened on Saturday at 7:20 p.m. Police say that Robert Yoder, of Butler, was driving on US 6 in the 5,600 block when he crashed into a ditch. Police said the vehicle continued and hit a utility pole.
The man was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted from the truck by first responders. He told police he was tired and thought he had fallen asleep.
Yoder was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken leg. His 2003 GMC Sonoma was a total loss.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Butler Police, Butler Fire Department, Waterloo Fire Department, Dekalb County Central Communications, and Jeff’s Towing.
