INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A bill before the Indiana Senate would allow elected officials and their employees to carry a handgun inside the Statehouse.
The bill passed the Senate Corrections Committee along party lines this week and is now before the full Senate. Republican Senator Jim Thomes of Wadesville says the bill “makes sense” due to the crime rate in Indianapolis.
It would allow the attorney general, secretary of state, state comptroller, state treasurer, and their employees to be armed.
