INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A federal judge is dismissing a lawsuit that challenged Indiana’s near-total abortion ban. The Satanic Temple filed a suit claiming the abortion law passed in 2022 violated religious freedom and the 5th, 13th, and 14th Amendments.
A judge ruled Wednesday that The Satanic Temple failed to prove they had standing to sue.
This comes after an Indiana Supreme Court ruling in June that state legislators are able to limit abortions that are not necessary to protect a woman’s life or from a serious health risk.
