FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Police Department officials say that a motorcyclist has critical injuries following a crash early Sunday morning. Just after midnight, officers were dispatched in reference to a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle on N. Clinton Street near Colony Drive.
According to the FWPD, the motorcycle was driving north on N. Clinton and the pickup truck was traveling east on Colony Drive when the crash happened. Police think the motorcycle had a nonfunctioning headlight and it may have contributed to the crash.
Medics arrived on the scene and transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital with multiple injuries that were determined to be life-threatening after arriving at the hospital.
Police say the crash is still under investigation.

On Sunday, October 1, 2023, at approximately 0003 hours, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to N. Clinton St. & Colony Dr. reference a crash involving a involving a pickup truck & motorcycle.
The motorcycle was traveling northbound on N. Clinton St. The pickup was traveling eastbound across Colony Dr. when the collision occurred. Medics transported the driver of the motorcycle to a local hospital with multiple injuries. The injuries to the driver of the motorcycle were determined to be life threatening at the hospital.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash at this time. Visibility of the motorcycle due to the possibility of nonfunctioning headlight is currently being investigated. Alcohol may have also played a role in the crash.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team.
