Evacuations are being ordered in Ukraine amid fears Russia could invade at any moment. The State Department has told family members of embassy employees to leave. President Biden is expected to decide as early as this week if he’ll move up to five thousand troops from other parts of Europe closer, but not into Ukraine. The U.S. just sent a second shipment of weapons to the country to help it strengthen its defense capabilities.
While jury selection begins today in a defamation lawsuit from former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. She’s suing The New York Times after an editorial incorrectly linked a 2011 attack on a former Arizona congresswoman to a map circulated by Palin’s PAC. The map showed crosshairs over certain congressional districts. The newspaper published a correction the next day and the case was dismissed, but an appeals court revived it in 2019.
