Quarantine rules are changing as COVID cases spike nationwide. The CDC cut the time in half from ten days to five for people who test positive but aren’t showing symptoms. Masks still need to be worn for another five days to avoid infecting anyone else. The same timeframe is also recommended for those who are unvaccinated and exposed. No need to isolate though if boosted and without symptoms. The CDC just advises to mask up for ten days.
While U.S. and Russian officials are set to hold security talks in two weeks as tensions rise over Ukraine. The talks will start January 10th, followed by a Russia-NATO meeting two days later, and then a broader meeting involving the U.S., Russia and several European nations. Moscow has sent a list of concessions it wants from President Biden. The most contentious is a promise that NATO would give up any military activity in eastern Europe and Ukraine.
