The top expert on coronavirus warns the omicron variant is going to take over this winter. But Dr. Anthony Fauci says this Christmas doesn’t have to be a repeat of last year. He’s urging even those with a booster shot to get tested before attending an indoor celebration and advises against gatherings if not all the guests are vaccinated. All but five states have yet to report omicron cases. President Biden will detail his action plan for the nation tomorrow.
While one major financial firm is already cutting its economic outlook after Senator Joe Manchin said he won’t vote for the Build Back Better bill. Goldman Sachs says it expects GDP to grow at an annualized pace of two percent in the first quarter, down from three percent. The firm says while the legislation’s demise has “negative implications” in the near term, it will likely have some “offsetting positive effects” for financial markets.
