FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Police Department officials say officers are investigating the death of a man found in the backyard of a home just south of downtown.
He was found last night in the 800 block of West Creighton Avenue around 8 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not indicated how he died.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following:
On Sunday, 06/02/2023, at approximately 8:00 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 800 block of West Creighton Avenue reference a subject found unconscious and unresponsive in the backyard of a residence. Officers arrived and the male/adult victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Fort Wayne Fire Department.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to assist in this death investigation.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
