Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched on a possible gas explosion in a trailer. The first engine on the scene found a single wide trailer home fully involved with fire. The Second engine on the scene confirmed that all occupants were out but the four occupants had various minor to moderate injuries. Crews used larger handlines to knock down the fire quickly.. Additional lines were used to protect and cool the structures surrounding this one. All of those structures had varying degrees of melted siding but no actual flame involvement. One family dog perished in the fire. All four victims were transported to the hospital. The fire is under investigation, however, investigators are looking closely at a recently installed gas dryer. FWFD was assisted by TRAA medics, NIPSCO, AEP, and Neighborhood code.
