DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Officials in DeKalb County say that a Butler woman was taken to the hospital after crashing I-69 in DeKalb County Monday afternoon.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office., 41-year-old Lisa-Marie Balasandiran was driving south at approximately 12:40 p.m. and attempted to take Exit Ramp 329 near Auburn.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says she ran off the roadway down a steep embankment and traveled through a grassy area.
Police said she glanced off a tree before coming to rest roughly 60 feet from the exit ramp.
Balasandiran told police she felt dizzy while driving and only remembered turning on her turn signal to get off the interstate.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said Balasandiran continued complaining of dizziness and lightheadedness before medical personnel transported her to a hospital for further treatment.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Auburn Police Dept., Auburn Fire Dept., Indiana State Police, and Parkview Dekalb Hospital EMS.
