FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Renovations are underway at Parkview Women’s & Children’s Hospital, located on the Parkview Regional Medical Center Campus, to “improve access to care for the region’s pediatric patients and families.”
Parkview released the following:
Existing space within the hospital is being remodeled to better meet evolving patient needs and an increasing demand for Parkview’s high-quality care. The project will add capacity for critically ill babies by expanding the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), with each room having expanded capabilities such as the ability to care for twins.
In the Family Birthing Center, renovations include a new eight-bed nursery, giving parents the opportunity for respite. Additionally, furnishings throughout the facility will be updated to create a brighter environment and improve the inpatient experience for families.
As part of this project, renovations are also underway in the adjacent section of Parkview Regional Medical Center, where additional operating rooms and surgical care areas will be added by repurposing existing space.
Renovations began at the end of May and are expected to be complete in the spring of 2024.
