FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Several people were home when a fair broke out in a Monroe Street home on Monday evening.
Crews were called to the 3000 block of S Monroe St around 6 p.m. after smoke was spotted coming from the basement.
Two adults and two children made it out safely and crews were able to put out the fire in less than 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

FWFD crews were dispatched to smoke coming from the basement windows at this address. A fire was discovered in the basement, and quickly extinguished. There were several family members at home at the time, and they all safely evacuated. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries to occupants of the house or to firefighters. FWFD received assistance from FWPD, TRAA, and other agencies.
