FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a crash Wednesday afternoon.
The Fort Wayne Police Department says that officers and medics were called to Bluffton and Winchester just before 4 p.m. on reports of the crash.
They found the motorcycle down in the northbound lanes of Bluffton Road when they arrived. Police think that for some reason the motorcycle hit a pickup truck that was stopped at a red light heading northbound on Bluffton Road at Winchester Road.
The driver of the truck was not hurt however, the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police didn’t offer any other information except that the crash remains under investigation

On Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, at approximately 3:58 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Winchester Road and Bluffton Road regarding a vehicle crash with injuries. Witnesses reported the crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcyclist.
Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male motorcyclist as well as an adult male driver of the pickup truck. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital where a physician advised he had sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not transported for any injuries.
Preliminary information indicates the driver of the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Bluffton Road and was stopped at the red light at Winchester Road when the motorcyclist struck the pickup truck from behind.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
