FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says an arrest was made in connection with a shooting last month.
Police say it happened around 4 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 in the 4900 block of McClellan Street.
Officers say they found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Police say the woman and her roommate got into an argument and a friend of the roommate shot her.
FWPD officials say they have now identified the suspect as Adrian Collins. He was arrested near the intersection of Spy Run Avenue and Forth Street and booked into the Allen County Jail Wednesday morning. Collins is now charged with criminal recklessness, aggravated battery, and battery with a deadly weapon.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Sept. 25th, 2022 at approximately 4:06 am at 4900 McClellan St. Officers located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound after responding to that address. The female was rendered aid, then transported to a local hospital in non-life threatening condition, were she remained in non-life threatening condition. Preliminary information indicated that the victim and her roommate got in an altercation. The roommate’s friend (Adrian Collins) became involved in the altercation, resulting in the victim being shot.
On October 12th, 2022 at approximately 0740 hours, the FWPD Homicide Unit took Adrian Collins into custody without incident near the intersection of Spy Run Ave. and Fourth St.. Collins was booked into the Allen County Jail for charges stemming from a previous shooting on 09/25/2022 in the 4900 block of McClellan St..
