FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police say that an arrest has been made in a Fourth of July shooting. FWPD officials said at the time that officers responded around 9 p.m. to the shooting off Calhoun Street.
Officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds behind a home on the 4700 block of Calhoun. While waiting on paramedics, police say one man died at the scene.
The Allen County Coroner identified him as 27-year-old Calvin Keys and reported that he died of multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.
Police now say that a suspect has been arrested and charged. Police say that Quantae Jackson was picked up in Indianapolis after local police worked with counterparts in the city. Jackson has been taken back to Fort Wayne and charged with Murder and Attempted Murder.

On 09/08/2022 at approximately 1340 hours, Quantae Jackson was arrested in Indianapolis in a coordinated effort between the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Indiana State Police. He was transported back to Fort Wayne and charged with Murder and Attempted Murder related to the homicide of Calvin Keys on 07/04/2022 at 4714 S. Calhoun Street. The Homicide Unit was assisted by the Vice and Narcotics Division, the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, the Aerial Support Unit, the Indiana State Police, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorneys Office.
