FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A 23-year-old man is dead following a shooting Monday afternoon on the city’s southeast side. And police now say that a 19-year-old is facing a charge of Murder.
Police didn’t specify a motive in the case but said that Michael Glover was identified as the shooter.
FWPD officials released the following:
On 8/8/2022 at 1249 hours, Fort Wayne Officers responded to 1419 Green Street; Bldg 10B reference a shooting investigation. Once on scene, a victim was located suffering from a gun shot wound(s) and was prounced deceased. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit conducted the investigation and were able to identify the shooter as 19yo Michael Glover. An arrest was made in the case and the suspect is charged with the below charges. Assisting the Homicide Unit was the Vice and Narcotics Division. Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, Aerial Support Unit Crime Scene Technicians and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following regarding the victim:
On Monday, August 8, 2022, at about 1300 hours the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a shooting investigation located in the 1400 block of Greene Street, Ft. Wayne, In. 46803. The shooting victim was located inside an apartment and death was pronounced at the scene.
An autopsy has been completed and the decedent has been positively identified as Jaiyvian Rashad Hamilton, 23 year old male black, from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Notification has been made to the next of kin.
The Cause of Death has been determined to be Gunshot Wound of Chest and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutors Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
Jaiyvian Rashad Hamilton is the 16th Homicide in Allen County for 2022.
