FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The “Kia Boyz” have come to Fort Wayne. Yes, you read that correctly and it is actually something you should worry about according to the police.
Law enforcement agencies across the country have been warning owners of Kias and Hyundais to be aware of the trend sparked by TikTok videos that show viewers how to steal the vehicles using only a USB.
The FWPD, according to WANE-TV, is warning about an uptick in such thefts here in Fort Wayne.
They say that much like other cities, the increase is tied to the popularity of the online videos teaching people how to easily steal the cars. In some cases, all it takes is a broken window and a USB cable.
Kia and Hyundai owners are advised to get a steering wheel lock and to be extra careful.
