DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – A wreck in DeKalb County sent five people to the hospital yesterday.
Deputies say a man driving a Buick slammed into a cargo van full of teens. It happened on the 1900 block of CR 48 at about 2 p.m.
The 2012 Chevrolet Express was reportedly slowing down to turn northbound on CR 19 when the Buick crashed into it at the intersection, pushing the Express into the westbound lane before it came to a stop.
Five of the eight teens in the van were taken to the hospital. The driver of the van, Terron Gillespie, 51, of Toledo reported neck pain.
Police say the driver of the Buick, Austin Renfrow, 25, was ticketed.
