FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting on Calhoun Street that left two men hurt – one of them critically.
When police arrived to the 2700 block of South Calhoun Street just after 10 p.m. on reports of gunshots, they found a car in an alley with a door open.
Officers say their investigation led them to that area where they believe the shots were fired.
A short time later, two men were reported to have shown up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
Police say that at least one of those men is now listed as having life-threatening injuries. There is no word on the condition of the other man.

On Tuesday, 01/25/2022, at approximately10:03 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2500 block of South Calhoun Street reference gunshots being fired in the area south of this address. Patrol officers arrived and began to canvass the neighborhood. They located an abandoned vehicle in a nearby alley with one of its doors standing open. Evidence near the vehicle suggested it was involved in this investigation. Officers then located evidence behind a business in the 2700 block of South Calhoun Street indicating gunshots had been fired in the parking lot.
At approximately 10:16 PM, dispatch received a call from the staff at Lutheran Hospital Downtown. They reported two shooting victims just arrived at their emergency room via private conveyance. The staff indicated both victims would be transported to another local hospital for medical treatment. The most recent update indicates at least one of the victims is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are interviewing potential witnesses and reviewing surveillance video from the area. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
