FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting they believe happened at the entrance to the Autumn Woods Apartments early Tuesday morning.
Officers report that one man suffered life-threatening injuries as a result. The initial call came in just before 4:30 a.m. and sent officers to the 6200 Chatham Dr. Despite a language barrier, officers were able to obtain information that led them to the victim.
Right now, police are asking the public for any information that could help them in the case.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred December 21, 2021 at approximately 4:27 am in the area of Autumn Woods Apartments. Police received information from a Caller, with a significant language barrier, that a person was shot and the victim was at a residence on the 6200 block of Chatham Dr. Police responded to that residence and located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Police applied a tourniquet to the victim’s injuries and rendered aid to the victim, until Medics arrived and took over life-saving measures. The victim was in serious condition at the scene and was later downgraded to critical condition at a local hospital.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting occurred at the entrance to Autumn Woods Apartments were evidence consistent with a shooting was located by Officers.
