UPDATE (December 21, 2021):
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Folks in Fort Wayne will have to wait a few more days to know who is going to pick up their trash.
Fort Wayne’s current trash company, Red River Waste, is in bankruptcy in Texas.
WANE-TV reports that the company was supposed to have a hearing Monday, but that’s been pushed back until Thursday.
Fort Wayne leaders fear Red River will simply dump the city and no longer pick up its garbage. Fort Wayne says it has an emergency plan in place in case that happens.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – No one in Fort Wayne is going to have to keep their trash.
City leaders this week made it clear they have emergency garbagemen on standby in case the city’s regular service disappears.
Fort Wayne is locked in a back-and-forth with its garbage company, Red River Waste Solutions.
Red River is in the middle of bankruptcy and Fort Wayne leaders are not sure the company will continue to provide services.
The trash company owes Fort Wayne nearly $800,000 by January 1st. No one at the company is saying if they’ll be able to pay.
