UPDATE (February 24, 2022):
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – An arrest has been made in a murder from November of last year. Jonathon Jackson was shot and killed at the West Wind Apartments in the early hours of November 10, 2021. A 23-year-old is now facing a charge of murder in the case.
FWPD officials released the following:
Shortly before 11:00am today, detectives with the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Unit, in conjunction with the FWPD Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, FWPD Vice and Narcotics Unit, and Garrett Police Department, arrested Weston Blakely in Garrett, IN. Blakely was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Allen County Jail.
Blakely is charged with the murder of Jonathon Jackson on November 10, 2021, in the 2100 block of Point West Dr.
UPDATE (November 11, 2021):
The Allen County Coroner has identified a man killed in a shooting early Wednesday morning at the West Wind Apartments.
Right now, we don’t know the identity of another man that was stabbed in what police was some kind of altercation in one of the apartments around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. (Full story below)
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following on Wednesday:
The autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin for the male victim that was found unresponsive within the apartment at 2108 Point West Drive Apartment 2D, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The decedent was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, on Wednesday, November 9, 2021, at approximately 01:26 hours. The decedent was pronounced deceased at the scene by Three Rivers Ambulance Authority. The decedent has been positively identified as Jonathon Christopher Jackson, a male, white, 22 years of age from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Cause of Death has been determined to be multiple Gunshot Wounds and the Manner of Death is Homicide. Jonathon Christopher Jackson is the 37th Homicide in Fort Wayne, and Allen County for 2021. The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting and stabbing that killed one man and injured another at the West Wind Apartments early Wednesday morning.
Officers were called just before 1:30 a.m. to the 2100 block of Point West Dr. They reported finding one man with possible stab wounds and another man with possible gunshot wounds at the scene. The man who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.
Police are hoping to talk to him to get more information.

On Wednesday, 11/10/2021, at approximately 1:23 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Point West Drive, West Wind Apartments, reference an unknown problem. A caller told dispatch a male subject was in the hallway yelling for help. Officers arrived and located a subject in the hallway suffering from an apparent stab wound(s). Officers were directed inside an apartment and located a subject suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).
The male/adult stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male/adult shooting victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Upon arriving at the hospital, the stabbing victim’s condition was upgraded to non-life-threatening by a physician. Initial information indicates there was an altercation inside the apartment between the two victims. Detectives hope to obtain additional details once they are able to interview the victim at the hospital.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
