INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A doctor at IU Health says getting a coronavirus test in the United States is harder than it should be.
Doctor Paul Calkins says other countries have a much more efficient testing system. He said you can get tested for free, almost anywhere in many counties.
Calkins says, in the U.S., people can’t find enough at-home tests, and when they do they cost around $30. Calkins says the federal government needs to make a testing strategy more of a priority.
On Wednesday, the U.S. is set to go live with a new website where families will be able to sign up for free at-home tests. More information will be available on Wednesday at CovidTest.gov when Americans can begin to order the tests.
