INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – There’s good news for campers in Indiana, the state is getting rid of pit toilets at its campgrounds.
The state’s parks department yesterday said it is slowly replacing the older toilets with new, vault toilets.
The new toilets store waste in an air-tight chamber and are more modern.
No one is guessing how long it will take to replace all of the pit toilets. Indiana State Parks says crews have replaced three old toilets so far.
