UPDATE (August 20, 2021):
There are questions to answer about the death of a missing little girl from Plymouth.
Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman Jr. yesterday said the suspect in 11-month-old Mercedes Lain’s disappearance led police to her body late Wednesday.
She was found in Starke County. Investigators say it is too early to say if she was murdered or if she died accidentally. The suspect in her disappearance, Justin Miller, is in jail as are Mercedes’ parents. They are facing neglect charges. The prosecutor did not say if those charges will be upgraded.

UPDATE (August 18, 2021):
The FBI is joining the search for a missing baby from Plymouth. On Tuesday, federal agents said they are now looking for 11-month-old Mercedes Lain.
The man who took her, 37-year-old Justin Miller, is in jail.
But no one is saying where the baby is.
She’s been missing since Saturday, which is when police in Mishawaka issued a Silver Alert for her.
Lain’s parents have also been arrested in the case and are looking at neglect charges.

PLYMOUTH, Ind. (ADAMS) – There is a search for a missing 11-month-old girl and the man who police say took her.
The Indiana State Police last night issued a Silver Alert for Mercedes Lain and 37-year-old Justin Miller. Both of their pictures are online.
Police say Miller took Lain, and they fear she’s in extreme danger. There is no word how Miller knows or is related to the baby. State troopers say anyone who knows anything about their whereabouts should contact police immediately.

The Plymouth Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Mercedes Lain, an 11 month old white female, 2 feet tall, 19 pounds, blonde hair with brown eyes, last seen with Justin Lee Miller, a 37 year old white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 pounds, brown hair with blue eye, and driving a blue 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with an Indiana plate of BOT126.
Mercedes is missing from Plymouth, Indiana which is 123 miles north of Indianapolis and was last seen on Thursday, August 12, 2021, 9:00 pm. She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
