FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that a man has critical injuries following a shooting off St. Joe Road on Thursday. Just after 5 p.m., officers found him off the 6500 block of the roadway and also quickly located a suspect.
23-year-old Bobby Kenyatta Leshawn Brown was detained in connection to the shooting which remains under investigation.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following:
On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 5:07PM, officers with FWPD responded to reports of shots fired in the 6500 Block of St Joe Rd. Upon arriving in the area, officers located a male, adult suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics responded to the scene and stabilized the victim, who was then transported to a local hospital. After arrival at the hospital, the victim’s condition was downgraded to life-threatening. Officers on scene located and arrested the suspect, who was also a male, adult.FWPD Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians were paged to process the scene and collect evidence. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. Suspect Arrested #1: Bobby Kenyatta Leshawn Brown, 23 years old.
