(ADAMS) – A lot of motorists are rollin’ through the weekend with slightly lower prices at the pump. As reported by AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular fell in the Buckeye State to $3.21 to start the week. Indiana is seeing an average price at the pump of about $3.36 a gallon – that is around 50 cents lower than a year ago.
Meanwhile, the national average dropped slightly to $3.35.
Mississippi remains the low-price champ at $2.91 a gallon. At the other extreme, prices remain highest in Hawaii, rising slightly to $4.66.
Experts say that gas prices tend to drop as the summer demand does the same. The lower prices will be a welcome sight for the millions hitting the roads this Labor Day Weekend.
If you are among those traveling – roads will be most congested during the afternoon on Thursday Friday, and early on Saturday.
