DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says that two people were hurt in a crash Monday afternoon. Just before 2:30 p.m., police say that 18-year-old Lillian Bostwick, of Angola, was driving southbound at the intersection of SR 8 and SR 1 when she attempted to turn east in a 2015 Ford Fusion.
Police said that at that moment she failed to yield to a Forf F250 driven by Matthew Mitschke, 42, of Charlotte, Michigan – pulling out in front of the truck. Mitschke was heading eastbound on SR 8 when his truck hit the Fusion.
Bostwick’s vehicle had significant damage to the front and rear passenger side and the F250 had damage to the front driver’s side.
Botsick and her passenger were hurt and assessed on the scene and then were transported to the hospital by another family member. Mitschke was not hurt.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Brent’s Towing, Parkview EMS, and Central Communications.
