FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A suspect in a 2022 Fort Wayne homicide was arrested Monday in Cleveland, Ohio with the help of US Marshals and the Fort Wayne Police Department.
The FWPD said on Tuesday that 43-year-old Michael A. Barker is now facing extradition to Indiana on charges of felony murder and robbery in connection to the killing of 63-year-old William J. Kintzel. His body was discovered in April of 2022 close to Birchwood and McCormick Avenues.

On December 4th, 2023 the second suspect wanted in connection in the homicide of William Kintzel on April 4th, 2022 was apprehended. The Fort Wayne Police Departments Homicide Unit conducted the homicide investigation of Mr. Kintzel and a Felony Murder warrant was issued for 43yo Michael Barker. Barker fled from prosecution and had been wanted since April of 2022. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Michael Barker was apprehended in Cleveland, Ohio. He will face extradition back to Indiana.
