ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Sheriff’s Department says a man is behind bars after running from officers and being found in possession of half a kilo of Fentanyl. Police say it started with a traffic stop on Tuesday. Miroslav Cuckovic reportedly took off when police tried to stop him on Washington Center Road.
Police say after a short chase he was apprehended and officers discovered the deadly drugs.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On the morning of October 24, 2023, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Allen County Drug Task Force, attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Washington Center Road and Dartmouth Drive, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The driver of the vehicle, Miroslav Cuckovic, fled from officers but was eventually apprehended after a short pursuit. During the investigation, a half kilo of Fentanyl was discovered, enough to potentially kill over 250,000 people. An investigation by the Allen County Drug Task Force led up to the attempted traffic stop. Miroslav Cuckovic was released from prison earlier this year and is now being held at the Allen County Jail on charges including Dealing in Cocaine or Narcotic Drug and Resisting Law Enforcement.
