FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation has installed a new playground structure at Casselwood Park.
The updated version features two slide choices with a shade structure at the top, multiple climbing bars and forms, and a separate swivel chair and swings.
The playground base was also refreshed and the walkway leading to the playground was repaved.
Parks and Recreation released the following:
Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Director Steve McDaniel observes “This enhanced playground is an opportunity to respond to requests by neighbors and to upgrade features for children of all abilities.” He continues, “we are grateful to the Park Board of Commissioners who approved funding earlier in the year.”
Deputy Director of Parks Steve Schuhmacher has spoken with residents and says “We hope many more positive memories are created at Casselwood Park.
“Casselwood Park was carved into the neighborhood from three private lots that were acquired by the city and dedicated in 1975. It was the result of a plan that was submitted by a student at Bishop Luers High School as a community service project as a part of his Eagle Scout process.
