FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The FWPD says it conducting a death investigation after a man was shot in a home on East State Boulevard on Friday.
The Fort Wayne Police Department said a victim was found with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Police said there currently isn’t any information on a suspect and that there is no threat to the community.
FWPD representatives released the following:
On June 16th, 2023 at approximately 1218 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department, Fort Wayne Fire Department, and TRAA medics responded to a shooting at 5204 E. State Blvd.. A victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and transported to an area hospital for medical treatment but was subsequently pronounced deceased. FWPD Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began an investigation. No suspects are being sought and there is no active threat to the community. FWPD was assisted by crime scene units, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s office.
