INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Proposed legislation at the Indiana Statehouse would require delivery services to enter into written agreements with the restaurants they work with.
If passed, the bill would apply to well-known companies like DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub.
If the delivery services fail to enter into a written agreement before delivering for a restaurant, they could face a lawsuit with damages up to $50,000 per transaction.
The bill was passed in the Indiana Senate and is now returning to the Indiana House for a final vote.
