FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The local division of Pepsi North American Beverages recently announced a partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne to promote literacy and diversity programs with a February emphasis on black history.
It is part of a national program called Mosaic and appropriately kicked off locally during this Black History Month.
An event was held Tuesday to highlight the initiative which promotes inclusion and awareness of the country’s many cultures.
As part of the program, Pepsi donated bookshelves and approximately 250 books written by or about the black experience to the Boys & Girls Club.
As well, the diversity library is planned to expand into different minority experiences. Pepsi representatives say they plan to bring more books in the future, and they hope to return for days when they can sit down and read with the kids.
Kids with the program also received books and pens to promote cursive writing.
