FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say a man is in critical condition after being shot Friday night close to Foster Park.
Just before 10:15 p.m., FWPD responded to the 3500 block of Owaissa Way. Police said that the man drove there from where he had been shot in the area of Gruber and Vesey Avenues.
When investigators went to that area they found what was believed to be evidence of a shooting.

On Friday, 09/09/2022, at approximately 10:13 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3500 block of Owaissa Way regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene to find an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported as being in life- threatening condition. The Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Technicians, and Air Support Unit were requested to the scene to assist in the investigation.
The victim told officers he was shot in the area of Gruber Ave & Vesey Ave. Officers and investigators canvased that area and was able to locate what was believed to evidence of a shooting. After the victim was shot he drove to the 3500 block of Owaissa Way, where family called 9-1-1.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
