FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say that a man is dead after a shooting inside a southeast apartment on Monday.
Officers were called just before 1 p.m. to the 1400 block of Greene Street after someone called 911 and said that, “a friend was shot.”Other callers reported that they heard shots fired in the same area.
According to police, officers arrived to find a man down in an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at 12:51pm today at 1400 Greene St. Dispatch received a call “that a friend was shot” and numerous other calls that people heard shots fired. Officers responded to the scene and located an adult male victim, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was treated at the scene by TRAA but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.
Homicide Detectives are gathering information and exhausting every lead. The crime scene is being processed and multiple resources are being utilized to assist in the investigation.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office
