FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are investigating after a man was found dead in a home close to downtown on Monday night.
There are not many details that have been made public at this point but police say they arrived to the 1200 block of Stophlet Street, close to Taylor Street, just after 9 p.m. after reports came in that a man was unresponsive.
He was located inside a home and pronounced dead. It is currently unclear what caused the man’s death or if any foul play is suspected.
FWPD officials released the following:
On August 8th, 2022 at approximately 9:05PM, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Stophlet St, regarding the report of an adult male unresponsive.
FWPD arrived on scene and located the male inside the residence. Fort Wayne Fire Dept arrived short time later and pronounced the male deceased.
FWPD Homicide and Crime Scene Technicians were called out to process the scene. This incident remains under investigation by Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Coroner’s Office.
