WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The police officer cleared in that viral arrest video from Purdue back in February will stay on desk duty for now, and the university is promising a review of its use of force policy.
The school yesterday said it will make some changes following the arrest. A special prosecutor this week said the officer did what he was supposed to do when he arrested Adonis Tuggle during a domestic dispute on campus.
Prosecutors say Tuggle used his race to ‘deflect’ from his own bad behavior. Still, the officer has apologized to Tuggle and Purdue is promising to hire a more diverse police force.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The special prosecutors looking into that viral video of a February arrest at Purdue says it ‘wasn’t even close’ that the officer would be charged with a crime.
Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said there won’t be charges in the case, though he said the person who was arrested could be charged.
Cummings says that man, Adonis Tuggle, used race to ‘deflect’ his involvement in a domestic situation.
Video of the arrest went viral this year, and many people online accused the Purdue officer of excessive force.
