COLUMBUS, Ohio (ADAMS) – Governor Mike DeWine is making mental health a focus of his administration.
The governor devoted a portion of yesterday’s State of the State address to the topic, particularly with regard to young people.
DeWine acknowledged record drug overdoses and increasing rates of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
DeWine also emphasized the importance of approaching mental illness as a health concern and not a crime.
