NEW HAVEN, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Coroner has identified a woman killed in a crash Wednesday morning in New Haven. Officers responded to a reported crash around 2:20 a.m. on State Road 930 East.
Police initially reported that a vehicle hit a pedestrian.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not issued further details.
The Allen County Coroner released the following:
At about 0220 hours, on August 25, 2021 the New Haven Police Department and New Haven Fire and EMS were dispatched on a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian located in the 7000 block of SR 930 E, New Haven, Indiana. Paramedics with the New Haven EMS pronounced death on scene.
The Coroner’s Office was requested on scene. The decedent has been identified and the next of kin has been notified of the death of Michelle M. Cousins, female white 48 years of age, from New Haven, Indiana. The autopsy has been completed and the Cause of Death is Multiple Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle versus Pedestrian Crash and the Manner of Death is Accident.
Michelle M. Cousins is the 31st fatal crash in Allen County for 2021. This remains under investigation by the New Haven Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
