UPDATE:
Police in Fort Wayne say they have some ‘persons of interest’ in Wednesday’s double shooting, but they don’t have anyone in custody yet.
One of the two people shot is continuing to fight for his life. Neighbors say they heard 50 shots fired Wednesday night. Investigators say they have some names but have not yet found the people they are looking for. Neighbors think the shooting was gang-related.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department are trying to figure out if two shootings last night were connected.
Dispatch began receiving calls around 8:45 for reports of gunshots. When officers arrived to the 4000 block of Hoagland, they found a man that had been shot.
A short time later, another man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
FWPD officials released the following shortly after the shootings:
On Wednesday August 18, 2021 at approximately 8:45 PM the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 4000 block of Hoagland Avenue in reference to a shooting investigation. As officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they observed a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics provided medical attention to the victim before transporting him to a local hospital where he was listed with non-life threatening injuries.
A short time later a male arrived at another local hospital by private conveyance suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency physicians listed the male with life threatening injuries.At this time, officers are canvassing the area attempting to locate any possible witnesses.
