FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The University of Saint Francis will host International Night, an event celebrating the international makeup of the men’s soccer team and featuring a soccer camp for local youth.
USF’s free soccer camp for ages 5 to 18 will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, followed by the USF vs. Marian men’s soccer game at 3 p.m. at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium. Camp participants will be instructed, according to their age groups, by USF coaches and players. Admission is free to the game with a canned good donation requested to benefit USF’s new St. Joseph’s Food Pantry and Kitchen.
In addition to the camp and game, the event will highlight the 20 countries represented on the soccer team, as well as many countries represented within the USF student body. International music and food (available at halftime of the game) will be featured, all free of charge.
“We are excited to celebrate the international students who are part of the USF community, as well as continue to connect with players and families in our vibrant local youth soccer community,” Men’s Soccer Coach Jake Essig said. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy a great time with us.”
