Man suffers life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a car on Reed

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say one man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle yesterday afternoon.

Just before 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Reed Road and Karen Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian that was struck.
Preliminary reports were that the pedestrian was walking on the east-side of the roadway and for an unknown reason may have entered the path of an oncoming vehicle traveling northbound on Reed Rd.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he was said to have life threatening injuries.
Police say the FACT team was called to the scene to collect evidence and take measurements in an attempt to piece together what may have occurred.
FWPD officials say this is an ongoing investigation. The victim’s identity, as well as his current condition, have not been released.
