IU students sue over vaccine mandate

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (ADAMS) – A federal judge is going to take a look at IU’s vaccine requirement.

On Monday, a group of eight students filed a federal lawsuit that says the school’s vaccine mandate violates their right to make their own medical decisions.

IU says nearly all students must be vaccinated in order to return to campus in the fall. The school says it has the power to make the rules, and it is choosing to do so in order to get back to normal.

The students say Indiana lawmakers clearly don’t want people forced into getting a shot they don’t want.

There’s no word when a judge could rule on the lawsuit.
