INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – One of Indiana’s largest hospital groups doesn’t want fans to see the greatest spectacle in racing in-person this year.
U Health yesterday said even a small crowd of fans for the Indianapolis 500, which is set for August 23rd, could spread the coronavirus.
Doctors say IMS officials should look for an alternative option. Indy 500 managers say IU Health’s suggestion is inaccurate and premature. The crowd at this year’s race will be limited to 25-percent of the 500’s capacity, and there will be social distancing enforced.
